This year we are back with our 2026 Chapter Conference and International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Certification Classes! Sign up now for your IMSA Certification Classes which are being held at this year's APWA IL Chapter Conference at the Peoria Civic Center. IMSA began the certification of individuals involved with various public safety activities in 1982. Today over 55,000 individuals have attained IMSA certification in their field of public safety. IMSA membership is not a requirement to obtain certification.
The attainment of certification is a means for individuals to indicate to the general public, coworkers and employers, that an impartial, nationally recognized organization has determined that they are qualified to perform specific technical tasks by virtue of their technical knowledge and experiences. Certification also bestows a sense of achievement upon the certified since it reflects professional advancement in a chosen field. Certification can also provide an entry into many job assignments that otherwise would be difficult to obtain, since employers recognize certification as an indication of the individual’s ability to do specific job tasks without the need for on-the-job training.
IMSA Certification Classes Schedule:
Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Tech - Monday, November 2 - Room# (TBA) (This is a "Prerequisite" for all Traffic Control & Signal Classes)
Traffic Signal Tech Level One - Tuesday, November 3 & Wednesday, November 4 - Room# (TBA)
Traffic Signal Tech Level Two - Thursday, November 5 & Friday, November 6 - Room# (TBA)

All exams will be done online. Please be aware you are required to bring your own laptop or Chromebook to complete your exams. **ADDITIONALLY, PLEASE note that the browsers needed are Firefox or Google Chrome to complete your exams. (Microsoft explorer or edge will not work!)
Refund Policy: DUE TO IMSA NATIONAL ASSOCIATION REGISTRATION REGULATIONS cancellation of attendee registrations or substitutions to another individual are not accepted. Please be aware that once you have registered there is no refund availability. All transactions and registrations are final.
